Paper Flowers

Is it bad that we haven't celebrated the New Year and I'm already thinking about Valentine's Day? Behind Christmas, it is my FAVORITE day of the year. Not only because I have a hottie to celebrate it with, but because it's the only time of year that pink and red go great together. I love to decorate and make sweet, yummy treats using cute heart-shaped cookie cutters and sprinkles. Should I even mention it's a great excuse to eat your weight in candy? A lot of people despise this time of year because they might not be as lucky as me with a date to enjoy it with. But who needs men? Have a date with Russell Stover. Buy you a large box of chocolates, rent a sappy love story, and enjoy the night solo. There is no need to feel sorry for yourself!

I will be posting lots of cute and easy ideas for decorations, treats, and cards from now until the fourteenth. So stop by and see what cute decoration or delicious treat I've made. I am planning on making a few things to put on etsy at the beginning of the year. You can see my etsy shop here. There's nothing to browse for just yet, but check back after the first week of January.

In the meantime, I've discovered how to fold paper to make flowers. I got the instructions from Martha's Medallions who made it so easy to learn!

Here's my creation:

Pretty cute, eh? Just a little trick that she didn't mention: tape the bottom of the flower together so it doesn't keep popping back out at you. Kind of frustrating but after the glued dried it held! These flowers would be perfect as picks for cupcakes or in a cute coffee can as a paper bouquet. Try some out for yourself.

This card will be listed on etsy soon.

Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I hope everyone had a blessed holiday and got everything they asked for! Mine was beyond wonderful. I got a lot of things on my list and I was surprised with a lot more! Some of the things I received were a pearl ring with matching bracelet, concert tickets to Rascal Flatts, a Vera Bradley luggage bag, riding boots, a navigator, and a large North Face Tri-Climate jacket. The time spent with family and friends was what made it worthwhile and mom made some delicious treats for us to share.

Thank you to all who made this Christmas holiday one to remember! I love you and I am truly blessed and grateful to have you in my life.

Kick Back!

I've been a little busy with school and work and haven't been able to do a lot of projects of my own. I recently updated the blog with my professional logo I designed myself this past semester. One of my goals for 2012 is to blog more often and share my creations with you all. I enjoy it so much and I love to get comments of what I have created.

First up is a card I made my country boy cousin for his birthday!

The boot was created on my Cricut with the "Just Because Cards" cartridge.

The paper and ric-rac from found from Hobby Lobby.

And of course there's a matching envelope!

I hope he loves it!

Here is the sentiment:

Have a great day!
