Paper Flowers

Is it bad that we haven't celebrated the New Year and I'm already thinking about Valentine's Day? Behind Christmas, it is my FAVORITE day of the year. Not only because I have a hottie to celebrate it with, but because it's the only time of year that pink and red go great together. I love to decorate and make sweet, yummy treats using cute heart-shaped cookie cutters and sprinkles. Should I even mention it's a great excuse to eat your weight in candy? A lot of people despise this time of year because they might not be as lucky as me with a date to enjoy it with. But who needs men? Have a date with Russell Stover. Buy you a large box of chocolates, rent a sappy love story, and enjoy the night solo. There is no need to feel sorry for yourself!

I will be posting lots of cute and easy ideas for decorations, treats, and cards from now until the fourteenth. So stop by and see what cute decoration or delicious treat I've made. I am planning on making a few things to put on etsy at the beginning of the year. In the meantime, I've discovered how to fold paper to make flowers. I got the instructions from Martha's Medallions who made it so easy to learn!

Here's my creation:

Pretty cute, eh? Just a little trick that she didn't mention: tape the bottom of the flower together so it doesn't keep popping back out at you. Kind of frustrating but after the glued dried it held! These flowers would be perfect as picks for cupcakes or in a cute coffee can as a paper bouquet. Try some out for yourself.
